Danish-born, Astrid trained at the Royal College of Art in London, graduating with both an MA in Menswear, the Brioni Creativity and Innovation Award and an industry-applauded graduate collection, styled by Simon Foxton.
Astrid launched her namesake label, Astrid Andersen, in 2010, trailblazing a boundary-blurring menswear style that fused sportswear silhouettes with the precision of tailoring, using luxurious fabrics and innovative construction. 2010 also saw Astrid nominated for Vogue Italia’s Talent 2010.
Awarded a place in 2013 on London’s lauded Fashion East programme with NEWGEN MEN sponsorship, Astrid platformed her unique design signature alongside peers including, Martine Rose, Grace Wales Bonner, Craig Green, and Bianca Saunders. Astrid graduated from NEWGENs talent identification scheme in 2016, earning a place that same year in Hypebeast’s annual ‘Hypebeast100’ - a list of the 100 individuals that define and evolve the zeitgeist, alongside a second nomination for LVMH’s prestigious annual Prize for Young Fashion Designers.
Against a backdrop of co-signs from significant cultural figureheads including A$AP Rocky and M.I.A – Astrid was approached by M.I.A to design her World Tour merch – Astrid debuted her first full women’s collection for AW17 at Copenhagen Fashion Week, translating her unique subverted style into a strong and powerful aesthetic.
